Music for Funeral Masses

All music sung during the funeral liturgy must be live (not recorded) and truly sacred in nature; we are bound by the Church’s guidelines for sacred music. Secular or recorded music might best be reserved for the wake/visitation or at a post-funeral gathering.

While the service music (i.e. the Holy, Holy, Holy, the Lamb of God, etc.) of the funeral liturgy is sung according to the choices and capabilities of the organist and cantor, we do invite you to make selections for any of the main hymns of the liturgy. You may select one from each category. Please note that on occasion, e.g., due to the liturgical season or the abilities of some organists and cantors, some hymns may need to be replaced. The number next to each hymn corresponds to the page number where it may be found in our parish's Saint Augustine Hymnal.
